# Android

Setting up Localify on Android.

### Prerequisites

Before continuing, please ensure your **Gakumas** account is linked to your **BNID** account.

Every APK on this page comes from the latest **gaku-patcher** release. Each **Gaku** APK only works with the **Localify** version included in the same release. Other **Localify** versions will not work.

Please uninstall any official **Gakumas** installations and any other **Localify** versions from your device before continuing.

1. Download and Install **Localify.apk** from the latest release.
2. Download and Install **Gaku\_x.x.x\_embedded.apk** from the same release.
3. Launch **Localify** to Download the **Translation Data**.

## **Embedded Cloned**

1. Download and Install **Localify.apk** from the latest release.
2. Download and Install **Gaku\_x.x.x\_embedded\_cloned.apk** from the same release.
3. Launch **Localify** to Download the **Translation Data**.
4. Enable `Use Cloned App Name` in `Debug Settings`.

## Updates

When a new release is published, download and install your **Gaku** APK from that release. If **Localify** is missing or older than the version built into the game, the game offers to install or update it for you. Allow the game to install unknown apps when prompted.

Updating **Localify.apk** yourself from the same release is still good practice, but not required.

## **Troubleshooting**

### Translations not working even with Localify Loaded

1. Enable `Clear translation data on next launch` in `Debug Settings` in the **Localify** App.
2. Launch the game from **Localify** once to clear the **Translation Data**.
3. Close the game and **Localify** after the splash screen appears.
4. Relaunch the game from **Localify**.

This clears the **Translation Data** in both **Localify** and the **Gakumas** cache.

# DMM Games

Setting up Localify on PC.

### Prerequisites

Before continuing, please ensure you have a **DMM Account**.

A **Japan VPN** may be required to access and download the **DMM Game Player**.

### Step 1: Install DMM Game Player

1. Visit the **Gakumas DMM Page**.

2. Click on **Game Start**.
3. Download and Install **DMM Game Player** by selecting it as the launcher.
4. Launch **DMM Game Player** and log in to your **DMM Account** if prompted.

### Step 2: Install Gakumas

1. Locate **Gakumas** in **DMM Game Player**.
2. Download and Install the game.
3. Launch the game once to verify that it works.

### Step 3: Set Up Localify

1. Download **DMM\_GakumasLocalify\_vx.x.x.zip** from the latest **Localify** release.

2. Extract the zip file. You should get a folder named `gakumas-local` and a file named `version.dll`.
3. Place both items into your **Gakumas** installation folder.

Ensure that **`version.dll`** and **`gakumas.exe`** are in the same folder.

### Step 4: Set Up Translation Data

1. Delete everything inside the `gakumas-local` folder.

Default Directory: `C:\Users\%username%\gakumas\gakumas-local`
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="warning" %}
This step clears the **Translation Data** bundled with **Localify**.
{% endhint %}

2. Launch the game and press **Ctrl + U** to open the **Gakumas Config GUI**.
3. Disable `Fast Initialization` in `Basic Settings`.
4. Disable `Replace Font` in `Basic Settings`.
5. Enable `Check Resource Update From API` in `Resource Settings`.
6. Enter `https://api.github.com/repos/NatsumeLS/Gakumas-Translation-Data-EN/releases/latest`
7. Click on **Check** to Download the **Translation Data**.
8. Enable `MasterDB Localization` in `Debug Settings`.
9. Click on `Save Config`.

## Updates

When a new **Localify** release is published, download it and replace `version.dll` in your **Gakumas** installation folder. Your **Translation Data** updates through the **Check** button in `Resource Settings`.

## **Troubleshooting**

### Translations are partially in Chinese

1. Delete the `local-files` folder and the `version.txt` file in `C:\Users\%username%\gakumas\gakumas-local`.
2. Restart the game and Download the **Translation Data** again.

# ProtonVPN (WireSock)

Setting up WireSock Secure Connect with ProtonVPN.

### Step 1: Log in to the ProtonVPN Dashboard

1. Go to the **ProtonVPN Dashboard**.

2. Sign in with your **Proton** credentials.

### Step 2: Generate a WireGuard Configuration

1. Click on **Downloads** in the left-side menu.
2. Scroll down to the **WireGuard Configuration** section.
3. Choose any **Japan** server.
4. Click on **Create**, then **Download** to get the `.conf` file.

### Step 3: Install WireSock Secure Connect

1. Download **WireSock Secure Connect**.

2. Run the installer and follow the prompts.

### Step 4: Import the WireGuard Configuration

1. Open **WireSock Secure Connect**.
2. Click on **Import existing profile** and select the downloaded **ProtonVPN** `.conf` file.

### Step 5: Add Tunneled Applications

1. Find your imported profile.
2. Click on **Edit profile**.
3. Find the **Tunneled applications** section at the bottom.
4. Add the following:

DMMGamePlayerFastLauncher
```

You may also need to add your browser to download the **DMM Game Player**.

5. Click on **Save and close**.

### Step 6: Connect

1. Close the **Preferences** window.
2. Click on the **Toggle Switch** in **WireSock Secure Connect**.
3. Launch **DMM Game Player**. Its traffic now routes through **ProtonVPN**.
